It’s the end the world. Or is it?
Las Vegas has lost its luster and entrepreneur Harry Philer has a booming business at the hotel Extravaganza out on the UFO highway. Guests come from all over the world to enjoy its first class service and watch what is billed as an authentic flying saucer recorded on an eight millimeter camera in 1968.
Melanie Blake, once a special agent with the FBI and now head of security at the Extravaganza, and a former colleague, Les Palmer, an expert in surveillance technology, team up secretly to film the well guarded footage. The two must solve the mystery of the film’s location in order to escape a planet seemingly on a path of self-destruction.
Will they be able to find the life that they hope exists for them on their doomed planet or will they lose their battle for the perfect life?
Excerpts From the Novel:
2020: While presenting himself as royalty, his personal habits did not equal his image. He sat in his office behind an eighteenth century desk, chewing peanuts and spitting out tiny chunks while dictating a letter to his secretary.
“Tell the butcher he sent me sub-standard meat last month. I pay good money for the best. If I want dog meat, I’ll go to Vegas.”
“Will that be all, sir?”
He leaned back and choked on a bit of husk. “I’m expecting some important guests in a couple of days. Make sure everything’s all right.”
The film: “Les, how much do you know about Abel Crawley?”
“Nothing.”
“Abel Crawley was not just some kook. He was a physicist. He was a believer in extraterrestrial life. But he wasn’t a fanatic by any stretch of the imagination. The story goes he shot this eight millimeter film in 1968 on a farm, or a ranch, or something in-between; capturing a flying saucer.
